
U.S. heavy machinery manufacturer Caterpillar posted full-year 2022 attributable net income of $6.705 billion (€6.175 billion), up 3.3 percent from 2021 earnings of $6.489 billion (€5.976 billion).
Revenues, meanwhile, reached $59.427 billion (€54.727 billion) at the close of 2022, up 16.6 percent on the previous year’s revenue of $50.971 billion (€46.94 billion).
However, expenses also rose in 2022 by 16.9 percent to $51,523 million (€47,448 million), mainly production costs.
In the fourth quarter of the year alone, net profit reached 1.454 billion dollars (1.339 billion euros), compared to a positive balance of 2.120 billion dollars (1.952 billion euros) a year earlier, down 30.4 percent year-on-year, the company reported.
Meanwhile, quarterly revenue was $16.597 billion (15.284 billion euros), up 20.3 percent compared to revenue of $13.798 billion (12.707 billion euros) in 2021.
