The German Parliament has ordered the flags of the legislative seat to fly at half-mast in homage to Pope Emeritus Benedict XVI, who died on Saturday at the age of 95.
The Parliament has consulted with the Ministry of the Interior before offering this tribute, according to a spokesman consulted by the DPA news agency.
Joseph Ratzinger was born on April 16, 1927 in the German town of Marktl, in the state of Bavaria.
