At least two people have been killed as a result of an alleged attack by Russian forces on the center of the Ukrainian city of Kherson, the Ukrainian Presidency said Thursday.
Ukrainian authorities have denounced in the last hours several shellings on this city, including in the vicinity of the town hall. Thursday’s attack is said to have hit near a medical care and aid delivery point, reports the UNIAN agency.
A local media has assured that among the two dead there is a medical worker. In addition, the authorities have confirmed two wounded following the attack.
The authorities have also confirmed that as a result of the latest bombing, all power supply in the area has been interrupted. Moscow has made actions against energy infrastructures one of its priority strategies in this phase of the conflict.
The Ukrainian Armed Forces regained control of the city of Kherson in mid-November, in a key victory in their efforts to regain lost ground in the east of the country. Kherson is also one of the four Ukrainian regions that Russia now claims as its own, following referendums.
