French President Emmanuel Macron will travel to Washington this week to meet with U.S. President Joe Biden in what will be the first state visit by a foreign leader to the U.S. since the AIDS-19 pandemic.
As detailed by the White House, Macron and Biden will meet in Washington for an official dinner next Friday, December 1, during which the two leaders will discuss the «continuity» of «close collaboration» on shared global challenges, as well as areas of bilateral interest.
This will be the first state visit of the Biden Administration, since this type of visits had been paused due to the coronavirus. Now, the United States will receive the President of its «oldest ally», according to the US Government’s letter.
