Ukrainian authorities have accused the Russian Armed Forces of launching a new air offensive against the Kharkov region and especially against the city of the same name, located in the east of the country and close to the Russian border.
«Warning! Residents of Kharkov and the region, the occupants (alluding to Russian troops) are firing. Stay in shelters,» Kharkov Governor Oleg Sinegubov has warned on his official Telegram channel.
For his part, the mayor of Kharkov, Igor Terekhov, has confirmed that the city has been the scene of up to six hits, mainly at an industrial facility. In addition, a fire has been confirmed at one of the missile impact sites.
Sinegubov also detailed that Russia reportedly launched between six and ten S-300 missiles. At the moment, no deaths or injuries have been confirmed, although Ukrainian authorities are investigating the facts, according to Ukrinform.
Kharkov was already targeted by the Russian Armed Forces last Sunday, when they targeted the central part of the city also with S-300 missiles. One of these rockets hit a residential building, injuring four people and causing extensive damage.
