The founder of the Russian mercenary group Wagner, Yevgeny Prigozhin, has reported on Sunday the discovery in Bakhmut, Ukraine, of two corpses of alleged foreign mercenaries mutilated to make their identification more difficult.
«Today in Bajmut Wagner units have found decapitated bodies without hands. Telephones and other information reveal that these bodies were those of mercenaries whom the enemy could not take away due to heavy fighting and therefore tried to hide their identities,» Prigozhin was quoted as saying by the Russian news agency TASS.
«All the bodies and all the evidence will be transferred to the authorities to investigate and take the necessary decisions,» Prigozhin added.
Russian forces have been trying for weeks to take control of the strategic locality of Bakhmut, Artemovsk for Moscow, and both sides have claimed that the other has taken heavy casualties in this battle.
