North Korean leader Kim Jong Un urged Tuesday to strengthen the country’s nuclear force with the aim of having enough weapons to use »anytime, anywhere».
»We should never be satisfied with the work to consolidate the full-response posture of our nuclear force and should continuously strive to strengthen the nuclear force steadily,» he said, as quoted by the KCNA news agency.
According to Kim, if the country is prepared to carry out an offensive posture, »the enemy will not dare to provoke» Pyongyang because »it will be afraid of them». Thus, he reiterated that they have to »expand the production of nuclear materials with foresight».
On the other hand, North Korean authorities have reported that they conducted a new underwater nuclear drill, which »successfully detonated the test warhead underwater», a few days after it conducted the first such test, designed to »stealthily infiltrate operational waters and create a large-scale radioactive tsunami».
HUMAN RIGHTS VIOLATIONS South Korean President Yoon Suk Yeol called Tuesday for full disclosure to the international community of human rights violations by North Korean authorities.
The reality of the egregious human rights violations against the North Korean people must be fully disclosed to the international community,» Yoon said.
The president said during a meeting that his cabinet is preparing a report on the matter, according to the South Korean news agency Yonhap.
