U.S. Secretary of State Antony Blinken has congratulated Moroccan Foreign Minister Naser Burita for the Alawite kingdom’s «commitment» «to promoting peace and security in the region,» which includes the Middle East.
The two ministers spoke by telephone on Tuesday, both sides confirmed, and Blinken informed his counterpart of the results of his meetings with Egyptian, Israeli and Palestinian authorities over the past few days, in which the head of US diplomacy «advocated de-escalation and ending the cycle of violence».
In addition, Blinken and Burita also spoke of «shared priorities» in both bilateral relations and «regional stability». Washington highlighted Rabat’s presence in the so-called Negev Forum, in which Israel and four Arab countries also participate.
