At least 30 people were injured Sunday when a train derailed in downtown Seoul, the capital of South Korea, the convoy’s operator, KORAIL, said.
The train derailed around 20.55 hours on Sunday (12.55, Spanish peninsular time) as it was about to enter Yeongdeungpo station in central Seoul, with 275 people on board, reports the South Korean news agency Yonhap.
The train was bound for Iksan, in North Jeolla province, about 180 kilometers south of Seoul, and had departed from Yongsan, Seoul province, at 20.15 hours.
The country is still reeling from the death of 156 people, mostly young people, in a human avalanche on October 29 during a Halloween party.
