A large fire that broke out on Tuesday morning has burned down one of the largest garment markets in Bangladesh’s capital, Daka, as firefighters continue their efforts to bring the blaze under control.
About fifty firefighters have been on the scene for several hours trying to extinguish the fire, which started at 06.10 local time.
In addition, there is a helicopter of the Bangladesh Air Force and the Border Guard has also joined the work to limit the fire, according to local media.
At the moment, the cause of the fire is unknown and no casualties have been reported. However, the fire is spreading to nearby markets, witnesses have told ‘The Daily Star’.
