Anti-abortion groups have begun a march through the streets of Washington D.C. to celebrate the overturning of the Roe v. Wade verdict ahead of this coming Sunday’s commemoration of the 50th anniversary of a ruling that changed the precepts of abortion law before the country until the contrary verdict enacted by the conservative U.S. Supreme Court in May of last year.

This Friday’s so-called March for Life will be directed against Capitol Hill. Demonstrators will protest initiatives currently in play in several states across the country that seek to establish their own pro-choice legislation to expand abortion rights despite the Supreme Court’s ruling against it, which ended constitutional protections for the voluntary termination of pregnancy.

The president of the March for Life Education and Defense Fund, Jeanne Mancini, has described 2023 as «a somber reminder of the millions of lives lost to abortion over the past 50 years, but also a celebration» of the victories won by the organization, the group said in a statement.

Anti-abortion groups appear at the march divided over the consideration of patients. March for Life is calling on conservative state legislatures to grant immunity for «victims,» while other more radical groups, such as Abolish Human Abortion, denounce abortion as «murder.

In addition, the U.S. Supreme Court has issued a report on Thursday stating that it has yet to determine responsibility for the leak of the historic ruling to the media.

Specifically, it said that «to date it has not been able to identify any person responsible» while ensuring that it is «unlikely» that the leak is due to a computer attack, as stated by CNN.

The investigation team conducted 126 interviews with 97 employees who denied the leak. They also conducted a fingerprint analysis and investigated possible connections between the employees and the journalists.

«In May 2022, this court suffered one of the worst breaches of trust in its history: the leak of a draft opinion. The leak was not merely a misguided attempt at protest. It was a serious assault on the judicial process,» the text reads.

The leaked 98-page document was written by Judge Samuel Alito and gave the «green light» to reversal of the historic ruling.
