Latvian authorities on Wednesday announced the dispatch of a new military aid package to Ukraine that will include ‘Stinger’ surface-to-air missiles, helicopters, drones and ammunition, among others, in the midst of Russia’s invasion of Ukrainian territory.
The Minister of Defense, Inara Murniece, has thus indicated that after a conversation with her Ukrainian counterpart, Oleksi Reznikov, «she has confirmed the unlimited support of the Government and citizens of Latvia for Ukraine in the face of this terrible war».
«Looking ahead, we will send new military assistance packages to the country,» he said, the Latvian Defense Ministry said in a statement following Murniece’s visit to Ukraine earlier this week.
During their visit, the ministers discussed the «effectiveness of the support provided so far by Latvia and the possibility of further deliveries as a sign of support to Ukraine.»
