Colombia’s National Penitentiary and Prison Institute (INPEC) has reported the seizure of 1,126 kilograms of marijuana found in a van painted and decorated like INPEC’s own vehicles.
The van was «twinned» for drug trafficking, but was abandoned on a road in Bolo in Palmira, Valle del Cauca, where the 1,126 kilos of drugs were located by members of the National Police’s Anti-Narcotics Directorate, according to Caracol Radio.
The original vehicle is located in the Jamundí prison facilities, «so it is ruled out that the abandoned vehicle is institutional and it is confirmed that it is indeed twinned», highlights the INPEC.
The authorities have opened an investigation to clarify who is responsible for this action whose purpose would be drug trafficking.
