
Uruguay’s unemployment rate in October stood at 7.8 percent, five tenths of a percent lower than in September, according to data published by the National Statistics Institute (INE) of Uruguay.
October’s figure is the lowest since April of the same year, when it stood at 7.7 percent, and again points to a downward trend after increasing in recent months to 8.4 percent (the annual maximum recorded in June). The total number of unemployed in Uruguay is 141,200 people.
The activity rate in October was 62.1 percent, 0.6 points higher than in September, according to data from the Continuous Household Survey.
