Transport leader Omar Reyes Campos was murdered on Saturday afternoon in the Las Cruces neighborhood of the Mexican city of Acapulco when he had just pasted electoral propaganda in favor of the head of the Mexico City government, Morena party leader Claudia Sheinbaum.
Police have gathered that at around 17.00 hours Reyes had finished pasting a poster in favor of Sheinbaum’s presidential candidacy when a group of armed individuals traveling in a van shot at him on several occasions, reports the newspaper ‘El Universal’.
A dozen AR-15 rifle and nine-millimeter pistol shells were found at the scene. The authorities have also confirmed that Reyes was the leader of an organization of collective cabs that goes from Acapulco to the community of Xaltianguis.
Reyes was previously accompanied at the poster pasting by the president of Morena’s Political Coordination Board and local deputy of Acapulco, Yoloczin Domínguez Serna.
