The President of Honduras, Xiomara Castro, will travel »soon» to China to continue strengthening ties after the formal initiation of bilateral relations, which have meant a collateral effect of the rupture of ties between the Central American country and Taiwan.
The Honduran Foreign Ministry announced on Twitter that Castro will travel on a date yet to be specified to the Asian giant »with a view to the signing of auspicious agreements between both countries», without going into further details.
Last week, a Honduran government delegation headed by Foreign Minister Eduardo Enrique Reina visited Beijing. The Honduran authorities have on the other hand broken diplomatic ties with Taiwan, thus turning their international doctrine in favor of building bridges with Beijing, both political and economic.
