
At least two Russian policemen have been wounded in an attack late Monday by unidentified persons on a police station in the republic of North Ossetia, on the border with Georgia, local authorities have confirmed.
The regional Investigative Committee said in a statement posted on its website that the attack was carried out against a police post between the highways connecting Nazran and Kantishevo and Malgobek and Maiskoye.
»As a result, two police officers have suffered bullet wounds of varying severity and have been hospitalized,» he said, without giving further details. He also stressed that an investigation has been opened, with no claim of authorship so far.
