Ukrainian presidential aide Oleksii Arestovich denied Friday that there is a «major Russian offensive» on the outskirts of the town of Vuhledar, where fighting has been recorded in recent days with Russian forces.
«They passed two kilometers. What is the winning ratio here? It’s tactical depth. It’s nothing. As they pass, they will be shot down,» adding that Russian troops are trying to improve their tactical position in certain areas near Vuhledar, UNIAN news agency has reported.
As reported on its Telegram profile by the Donetsk Administration, led by Pavlo Kirilenko, on Friday morning two people were killed and one wounded after shelling in the small locality of Bohoyavlenka.
He also specified that in the Horlivskii direction one person was wounded and one house was damaged in Bajmut, while Torske, Zarichne and Yampil were shelled in the Lisichansk direction, with destruction of several houses.
The authorities of the self-proclaimed Donetsk People’s Republic indicated on the eve that Russian forces had entered the city and dug in on the outskirts, causing enemy forces to fall.»
«Our artillery is working in the clashes against the enemy, which is trying to counterattack,» they pointed out, adding that the aim is to take over the city «slowly,» according to information from the TASS news agency.
