
Ukrainian authorities on Wednesday night activated an airborne alert over much of the country in the face of the possibility of Russian troops launching a major widespread offensive on a day marked by the commitment of Germany and the United States to supply tanks to the Ukrainian Armed Forces.
The head of the presidential cabinet, Andrei Yermak, has urged the population not to ignore the alerts issued by the authorities and reported that anti-aircraft systems in several regions are already operational.
The governor of the Mikolaev region, Vitali Kim, has warned that the Russian Armed Forces have already launched Iranian-made Shahed unmanned aerial vehicles, reports UNIAN news agency.
In this line, the Ukrinform news agency reported that, within the framework of these threats against possible Russian attacks, explosions have already been heard in Kherson and Dnipro, in the south and east of the country.
