A Hong Kong cargo ship sank Wednesday off South Korea’s Jeju Island, with 22 crew members on board with Chinese and Burmese nationality.
Four Chinese crew members have been rescued, while the Coast Guard – in a joint operation between South Korea and Japan – is trying to rescue the other 18 people who are reportedly adrift in lifeboats, according to Japan’s Kyodo news agency.
The boat -with fourteen members from China and eight from Burma- was sailing in the sea between South Korea and Japan and sank 148 kilometers southeast of the city of Seogwipo, on Jeju Island, at about 01.45 local time, as reported by Yonhap.
