
The President of Ukraine, Volodimir Zelenski, has discussed on Tuesday with the Canadian Prime Minister, Justin Trudeau, peace formulas to put an end to the war, which started on February 24, 2022, after the mandate of the Russian leader, Vladimir Putin.
Zelenski has indicated that the conversation between the two leaders has been about strengthening Ukraine’s defense capabilities «in the face of threats and risks of escalation on the front.»
The Ukrainian president also expressed, through a call with Trudeau, his «gratitude for Canada’s strong support for Ukraine», as he explained in a message on his Twitter profile.
For his part, the Canadian ‘premier’ has «made it clear» to Zelenski that his country’s support «for Ukraine and Ukrainians remains strong.» «I let him know that we will make sure they have what they need for the winter, and for as long as it takes,» he added, reiterating Canada’s commitment.»
«We will provide humanitarian, military, financial and other assistance to the Government and people of Ukraine to safeguard their free, democratic and secure future,» he has specified.
Trudeau praised President Zelenski’s «continued efforts to this end, including his peace initiative,» while recalling that his hope is that 203 «will bring a just and sustainable peace to the people of Ukraine.»
