The prime minister of the self-proclaimed Donetsk People’s Republic (DPR), Vitali Khotsenko, and the former director general of the Russian space agency Roscosmos, Dmitry Rogozin, have been injured following the shelling of a hotel in the city of Donetsk allegedly perpetrated by the Ukrainian Army.
«DPR Prime Minister Vitaly Khotsenko has been injured during the shelling of a hotel in Donetsk, (although) there is no threat to his life. The people accompanying him have also been wounded,» Jotsenko’s press service said in a statement carried by the TASS agency.
Donetsk authorities also said that the prime minister of the self-proclaimed DPR «feels well».
For his part, Dmitry Rogozin was injured and was taken to hospital after being wounded in the back.
«On the outskirts of Donetsk, a hotel has been shelled, where a group of military advisors headed by Dmitry Rogozin had been living in recent months. Rogozin was wounded in the back and has been hospitalized. There is no threat to life,» a source close to the former Roscosmos director general told TASS.
«The attack was clearly targeted. Experts are inclined to believe that a 155-millimeter Caesar self-propelled artillery self-propelled artillery mount, developed and manufactured by the French company Nexter, was used for the attack,» a Rogozin aide has added, accusing the Ukrainian Armed Forces of the alleged attack.
The Joint Center for Ceasefire Control and Coordination (JCCC) has detailed in a message on Telegram that Ukrainian troops have fired eight 155-millimeter shells (NATO caliber) at the localities of Kirovsky and Kuybishevsky.
«An attack from the side of the Ukrainian positions has been registered. At about 23.38 (local time) there was shelled the locality of Krasnogorrivka in the Kirovsky district with 5 shells of 155 millimeters,» wrote the JCCC in its message, to maintain that at 23.50 another three shells were launched at Kuybishevsky.
