The first supersonic air-to-ground missile launched by Turkey’s Bayraktar Akinci unmanned aerial vehicle has accurately hit its target in its first test, Turkish officials have reported.
«Turkey’s first supersonic missile TRG230IHA, developed by Bayraktar, has hit its target with high accuracy at a distance of 100 kilometers,» Turkey’s Baykar said in a statement on the social network Twitter.
«We continue to push the limits with our national engineering capabilities,» the missive wields.
As reported by Anadolu Agency, the unmanned aerial vehicle, which took off from the company’s facilities in the city of Corlu in northeastern Turkey, launched the hypersonic missile at an altitude of 7,600 meters off the coast of Sinop.
In this way, the drone had the ability to fire autonomously in the air and act on critical targets at supersonic speed in a short time.
