Zelenski qualifies that no one is «one hundred percent» sure about what happened in Poland

The President of Ukraine, Volodimir Zelenski, has softened his statements after the recent impact of several missiles on Polish territory and has assured that it is «one hundred percent» unknown what could have happened, so that no accusations could be made yet on either side.

«We cannot say specifically that it was Ukrainian air defense,» he said, alluding to the hypothesis that has gained strength after preliminary investigations carried out by the Polish authorities and successive contacts within NATO.

Zelenski, who participated in the Bloomberg New Economy Forum in Singapore, advocated in an interview for clarifying the circumstances of this event, a day after insisting that the shells that fell in Przewodow were Russian and not Ukrainian.

«I don’t know one hundred percent. I don’t think the world knows one hundred percent what happened either», assured the Ukrainian president, despite the fact that in a speech at this same forum he was again «sure» that «it was a Russian missile.

He also acknowledged that the Ukrainian forces activated their defense systems to try to stop the cascade of missiles that fell on Ukraine on Tuesday, when there was a wave of bombardments unprecedented since the beginning of the invasion in February.

However, Zelenski has stated that his military advisors have told him that images of the crater at the site of the explosion would show that it could not have been caused only by the remains of a hypothetical Ukrainian projectile.

In any case, both Warsaw and NATO as a whole have stuck to the accident thesis, although they agree with Kiev that Moscow is the party responsible for the escalation of war tensions. The Polish government is not considering for the time being to activate any article of the Atlantic Alliance treaty in order to open consultations.
