This Sunday at 17.00 hours (21.00 in mainland Spain) the polling stations have closed in Brazil, which elects this Sunday its next head of state in the second round of the presidential elections.
The current president, Jair Bolsonaro, from the extreme right, faces the leftist candidate and former president Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva, with the latter having a slight advantage according to the polls.
The day was marked by more than 500 interventions by the Federal Traffic Police (PRF), which reportedly hindered the movement of voters, mainly in the northeast of the country, an area considered to be pro-Lula.
The interference is particularly serious because the Superior Electoral Court had specifically warned the PRF on Saturday not to intervene during voting day.
