Nicaragua has decided to cancel Friday the restrictions decreed the day before on the entry of photographic and video cameras by tourists, who had to have an «endorsement» from the National Cinematheque.
«All restrictions on the introduction of photographic and filming equipment into our country are eliminated by presidential decision. In the afternoon, the General Directorate of Customs Services (DGA) will be circulating the document», said the Vice President of Nicaragua, Rosario Murillo, as reported by the newspaper ‘La Prensa’.
She said that there are «more and more people interested» in visiting the country, so the President of Nicaragua, Daniel Ortega, has ordered the General Directorate of Customs Services to stop the measure decreed the day before, which also included night vision binoculars.
The DGSA had already published a complete list of 140 photographic and video equipment, including 90 camera models, as well as 50 recording equipment, with brands such as Nikon, Canon or Sony, according to local media.
