The Indonesian Geological Survey (BMKG) reported Wednesday that it has detected an earthquake measuring 6.3 on the Ritcher scale in Indonesian waters.
The earthquake, detected at 07.34 local time, has the epicenter in the sea at 138 kilometers depth.
As confirmed by the BMKG, the tremor has been felt in the community and has warned of possible aftershocks that may occur.
Several neighbors have expressed that they have felt fear and have felt dizzy by the earthquake in the area of Gorontalo, in the south of Celebes island, as reported by the Antara news agency.
The residents stressed that this tremor was different, because it «lasted a long time», while some felt «shaken and dizzy», and others left their homes in panic, as the agency was able to learn.
