The Colombian government confirmed on Wednesday night the kidnapping of the father of the secretary general of the Colombian Ministry of Justice, who was in the rural town of Granada, in the department of Meta, in the center of the country.
He is Vicente Ortiz Alvarez, father of the senior official of the Justice Ministry Helen Ortiz, as reported by the newspaper ‘El Espectador’.
The Colombian government has ordered a deployment of the army and police units in Meta, all in an effort to find Ortiz’s father, who has been missing since December 20.
During the early hours of Thursday morning, a search has also been activated with members of the community of Granada, as well as in the farm where Vicente Ortiz lived. Searches have also been carried out in the surroundings of the property as well as on the roads of the municipality, according to the newspaper.
