The Special Prosecution Team for the Odebrecht and Lava Jato cases has requested 36 months preventive detention for former president Alejandro Toledo in the case of section four of the Inter-Oceanic Highway. Toledo and the other defendants are outside Peru.
Judge Richard Concepción Carhuancho will evaluate the request of the Prosecutor’s Office on December 12 in an «unpostponable» hearing, of «mandatory attendance» and face-to-face.
Prosecutor Diana Liz Canchihuaman Castañeda has also requested preventive imprisonment for Avrahan Dan On, former security chief of Alejandro Toledo, and for the former representative of the Brazilian construction company Camargo y Correa in Peru, Marcos de Moura Wanderley.
The former Peruvian president has already been indicted twice: one for 20 years and 6 months in prison, and the other for 16 years and 8 months in prison for the cases of the Interoceanic Highway South, sections two and three, and for the so-called Ecoteva case.
Lima has requested the extradition of the former Peruvian president to the United States to answer for the charges attributed to him for these two cases.
