The Ukrainian Armed Forces claimed Friday to have killed 840 Russian servicemen in fighting over the past day and said that about 75,000 Russian soldiers have died in combat since the start of the invasion, launched on February 24 on the orders of Russian President Vladimir Putin.
The General Staff of the Ukrainian Army has noted in a message on its account on the social network Facebook that «about 74,840» Russian servicemen have been «liquidated» since the start of hostilities and highlighted that during the last 24 hours 840 «occupiers» have been killed. «It’s not a record, but almost,» he stressed.
«The enemy has suffered the heaviest losses in the direction of Liman and Avdiivka,» he said, while indicating that so far 2,750 battle tanks, 1,772 artillery systems, 201 anti-aircraft systems and 391 self-propelled and armored multiple rocket launchers have been destroyed.
He also noted that the Ukrainian Army has destroyed 277 aircraft, 258 helicopters, 1,450 drones, 397 cruise missiles, 16 ships, 4,174 vehicles and fuel tanks and 155 pieces of special equipment. «The data is being updated. Hit the occupier. Let’s win together. Our strength is in the truth,» he noted.
On the other hand, he pointed out that «the enemy is trying to keep the temporarily captured territories» and «concentrates its efforts on limiting the actions of the Defense Forces in certain areas», including «offensive actions» in the direction of Bakhmut, Avdiivka and Novopavlivka. «The threat of new attacks and the use of drones still exists, in particular from Belarus,» he concluded.
