Hunter Biden, son of U.S. President Joe Biden, has asked the Department of Justice for an investigation against people close to former President Donald Trump, including Rudy Giuliani, for the theft of information from a controversial laptop computer, for its alleged contents, which was stolen from him.
Hunter Biden’s legal team has sent several letters to the U.S. Attorney’s Office in which it claims that there is sufficient reason to investigate a number of individuals who «violated several federal laws by accessing, copying, manipulating and/or disseminating data» from his personal computer.
That information, subtracted from a device that Trump described as «the laptop from hell», has generated several doubts not only about Hunter Biden’s finances, the subject of several investigations by the Delaware Prosecutor’s Office since 2018, but also about alleged dissolute behavior, with sexual scandals and drug use, which have been echoed by several media.
In addition to Giuliani, who acknowledged that he leaked a copy of the hard drive of that laptop to the ‘New York Post’ shortly before the 2020 elections, the lawsuit of Hunter Biden’s legal team also includes Steve Bannon, who also admitted in September 2020 to having «a copy of Mr. Biden’s computer data».
It also calls for the investigation of John Paul Mac Isaac, who ran the repair store where Hunter Biden would have left «abandoned», according to his version, the laptop, after being damaged.
According to the letter from the lawyers of the son of the head of the White House, «Mac Isaac chose to work with the personal lawyer of President Donald Trump», at that time Giuliani, to convert the data from Hunter’s personal computer «into a weapon against his father», «illegally» providing information to the ‘New York Post’.
For his part, a spokesman for Giuliani has spoken to NBC to settle that the device «became abandoned property» after it was left in the store that Mac Isaac ran in Wilmington, Delaware, which «raise concerns now, after so many years, indicates how devastating are the texts and videos» that were found inside Hunter’s laptop.
Those stories and rumors about the alleged contents of Hunter’s laptop were some of the trump cards used by Trump during the election campaign, and even in the television debates, to attack Joe Biden, whom he insistently reminded of all these theories.
