A total of 41 people have been arrested by the police during the riots of Saturday’s demonstration in the Roman district of Trastevere in the framework of an anarchist protest, it has emerged Sunday.
A hundred demonstrators gathered late Saturday afternoon in the Italian capital’s Trilussa square to protest the situation of prisoner Alfredo Cospito, on hunger strike in Bancali prison for the past three months, reports AdnKronos news agency.
The demonstrators clashed with the police in the narrow streets of the area and dispersed in the neighborhood to vandalize.
They then moved to Paneri Street where they barricaded themselves in a garage. Some of these anarchists were later identified and arrested by the police.
