The Prime Minister of Italy, Giorgia Meloni, has condemned the attack perpetrated in several churches in Algeciras (Cadiz) and the stabbing in a train in northern Germany, and has called to «keep our guard up against people and movements that want to destroy our societies and attack us for what we are».
«Acts of brutal and blind violence have once again struck Europe,» Meloni lamented, in a message of «closeness» and «solidarity» towards the Spanish Prime Minister, Pedro Sanchez, and the Chancellor of Germany, Olaf Scholz.
The attack in Algeciras resulted in the death of a sacristan and an injured priest, while the attack in Germany, committed inside a regional train in the northern part of the country, left two dead and seven wounded. In both cases, the alleged assailant was arrested.
