NATO has convened a meeting of the Military Committee, considered the highest military authority of the Atlantic Alliance, for January 18 and 19, with a view to bringing together the commanders of the Armed Forces of the 30 member states, as well as Sweden and Finland, which will again participate as guests.
NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg will take part in the first day, although the meeting, convened at the headquarters in Brussels, will be led by Dutch Admiral Rob Bauer, chairman of the Military Committee.
The meeting will address «issues of strategic importance» for the bloc’s member states, according to a NATO communiqué.
Among the items on the agenda will be the analysis of the war in Ukraine, although other issues of special interest to NATO will also be discussed, such as the deployment in Kosovo, which has been a topical issue in recent weeks due to the escalation of tensions.
