
Russian authorities on Wednesday announced the arrest of a Polish citizen with «diplomatic status» for allegedly accepting a bribe in exchange for preparing false documentation to avoid paying customs duties on alcohol imports.
The Russian Federal Security Service (FSB) has indicated that the suspect, who is «an employee of an international financial organization with diplomatic status,» has been arrested «red-handed» while «receiving a bribe of 20,000 euros,» Russian news agency Interfax has reported.
It has also stressed that it has asked the Russian Foreign Ministry to declare the detainee as ‘persona non grata’ and to force him to leave the territory of the Eurasian country within a week, while confirming the arrest of three Russians for their alleged involvement in «organizing channels for the illegal import of alcoholic products».
