One Pakistan Frontier Corps soldier was killed and two others were wounded Sunday in an attack in Chaman district, Balochistan, as a result of gunshot wounds from a cross-border attack allegedly originating in Afghan territory.
Local authorities have indicated that security officials based in Afghanistan allegedly opened fire on Pakistani personnel on duty.
They have suspended activities at the checkpoint, as they do not plan to resume until Afghanistan extradites the perpetrators of the crime, reports GEO TV.
The channel indicated that a meeting was held between representatives of the two countries, at which Pakistan made it clear that the door will be closed until the attackers are handed over to them.
Islamabad has also called for a cease-fire in the area. For its part, Kabul has indicated that the attackers were anonymous terrorists disguised as Taliban.
