Authorities in Mexico arrested five people on Sunday as suspects in the deaths of two women, who were found lifeless on January 12 inside a home in Ciudad Juarez, Chihuahua state, after a week of being missing.
The State Attorney General’s Office (FGE) has reported the arrest of five people – aged 18, 21, 24 and 26 – as the alleged perpetrators of the deaths of Maribel G. T. – aged 24 – and Gabriela Janeth L. P. – aged 26.
The arrest was made by agents of the State Investigation Agency. According to the accusation against them, the detainees beat and asphyxiated the victims on the night of January 4 in a house located on Villa Gessell street, in the Parajes del Sur hill, in Juarez.
The victims had been missing since January 4 and their bodies were found by Mexican authorities on Thursday.
The Specialized Prosecutor’s Office for Attention to Women Victims of Gender and Family Crimes (FEM) confirmed that the two dead bodies in the house in Parajes del Sur corresponded to the two missing young women.
