Ukrainian President Volodimir Zelensky has made a new appeal to Ukrainian citizens calling for limitations in electricity consumption as a way to defeat Russia «also» in the energy sphere.

Zelensky recalled that due to Russian attacks on key energy structures in the country, many cities and regions of Ukraine are experiencing emergency power outages, which is why «energy consumption has to be limited,» as the Ukrainian president urged in his daily address to the country’s population.

«No matter what the enemy does, our task is to break their plans and protect Ukraine. And this is not just someone’s task, it concerns not only energy workers or anyone else. Now all Ukrainians need conscious energy consumption (…). We also need victory over Russia on the energy front,» the Ukrainian president said.

In this sense, Zelenski warned that «Russian terrorists» would have created conditions «so difficult» that no one in Europe would have seen or encountered «ever».

«(In Europe) there have been no such threats and our specialists are forced to overcome them now. And they overcome them with honor,» he said.

All in all, Zelensky took stock of the latest progress on the front against the Russian troops, detailing that this Wednesday eight Russian helicopters have been shot down, bringing to 250 the number of this type of aircraft eliminated by the Ukrainian Army.

«The total number of downed Russian helicopters is already approaching 250. The Russian occupiers have already lost as much equipment as most of the world’s Armies simply do not have and will never have in service. Russia will not be able to restore these losses,» the Ukrainian head of state has maintained.

«We continue to do everything possible to free our people from Russian captivity,» Zelensky added, announcing the release of «ten more Ukrainians» over the past 24 hours.
