The US social network Twitter on Thursday blocked the Russian Foreign Ministry’s English-language account for a week over a video about Moscow’s stance on the advancing war in several Ukrainian localities, the Russian government said.

Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova said the English-language account has been blocked after disseminating information about «provocations by the Kiev regime in Bucha, Izium and Kupiansk.»

The video in question was posted on Tuesday and exposes the Russian position on the massacre in Bucha, where Ukrainian forces found the bodies of hundreds of civilians after taking control of the city, previously occupied by Russian troops.

«The eagerness with which U.S. information technology corporations erase facts related to the Kiev regime only confirms that they are all involved,» Zakharova asserted.

In early April, a number of international and Ukrainian media outlets released numerous images allegedly showing dead bodies of civilians, some of them handcuffed, in the streets of Bucha.

Ukraine’s Prosecutor General Irina Venediktova said that in total more than 400 lifeless bodies had been found on the outskirts of Kiev, the capital. However, Russia has maintained that this was a «set-up» and a «provocation» by Kiev and has denied that civilians were abused in areas controlled by Russian forces.

Thus, the Government has repeatedly rejected the involvement of Russian military in killings and arbitrary executions in Bucha and has insisted on opening an «impartial» investigation at the international level.
