The Pentagon reported Thursday that the U.S. military has been tracking a suspected Chinese spy balloon, reportedly at high altitude, over continental U.S. airspace in recent days.
«The United States detected and is tracking a high-altitude surveillance balloon over the continental United States at this time,» Pentagon spokesman Gen. Pat Ryder said, NBC News reported.
«We currently assess that this balloon has limited additive value from an intelligence-gathering perspective beyond what the People’s Republic of China can do by other means,» a senior defense official said, however, according to NBC News.
