Mexican President Andres Manuel Lopez Obrador has attributed Berlin’s decision to send Leopard battle tanks to Ukraine to «pressure from the German media.»

According to the Mexican president, Germany «did not want to get too involved» in the war between Russia and Ukraine, but has been forced to do so by media pressure.

«Media power is used by the oligarchies in the world to subjugate governments», denounced President López Obrador during his traditional morning press conference.

For the Mexican head of state, this type of situation, in which governments bow to the pressures of the media, occurs in different parts of the world, and has even been attempted in Mexico, reports ‘Milenio’.

The German authorities have given the ‘green light’ this Wednesday to the supply of Leopard to Ukraine, as well as to the shipment from third countries of these German-made tanks to the Armed Forces of the Eastern European country.
