The National Police of Peru has removed this Monday a publication on its official Twitter account in which it invited the population to a call for a demonstration this Tuesday called ‘Great march for peace’ to support the Government of Dina Boluarte.
On its Twitter account, the Peruvian National Police disseminated a publication in which it asked citizens to concentrate in the Campo de Marte, in the Peruvian capital, in rejection of the latest violent protests that have erupted in the country, and to support peace, as reported by the newspaper ‘La República’.
Despite the confusion, and although the judicial authorities have not yet made a statement, the former president of the Constitutional Court Oscar Urviola has affirmed that the call of the Police to demonstrate does not imply any infringement of the law or the Constitution, as reported by the news portal Peru21.
The call, scheduled for this Tuesday at 3:00 p.m. (local time) in the capital, Lima, was supported by the Peruvian President herself, Dina Boluarte, two days ago, who invited the citizens to mobilize to «build Peru».
Likewise, in a video broadcast on social networks on Sunday, the head of the Criminal Investigation Directorate (Dirincri), Óscar Arriola, asked citizens to attend the march. «Not one more drop of blood, not one more Peruvian injured. No to violence,» he added.
