The President of Portugal, Marcelo Rebelo de Sousa, has received in recent days a letter with a bullet inside, a cell phone and a note with a bank account into which to deposit one million euros.

The case, already in the hands of the Judicial Police, has been relativized by Rebelo de Sousa, who has assured to have received more «threats» when he participated in television programs than since he has been president of Portugal.

«These are things that happen and I don’t give them much importance», said the Portuguese president, who has counted «dozens» of such situations, as he told CMTV channel.

«This happens at intervals and no seriousness has ever been confirmed. Normally it is a case of alteration or cannot even be investigated because they are anonymous letters,» said the president, who was outside the official residence when he received the letter.

A couple of months ago the Portuguese president was also a victim of such «disturbances», after his personal data was leaked following a computer attack on the Portuguese airline TAP.
