The Democratic Party has revalidated its Senate seat for the state of Arizona after the disputed victory of astronaut Mark Kelly over Republican candidate Blake Masters, leaving the Democrats just one seat short of a majority in the Upper House.
With 51.8 percent of the vote, Kelly has revalidated his seat in the U.S. Senate by beating Masters, a venture capitalist backed by former President Donald Trump and who had repeated some of his falsehoods about the 2020 presidential election, as reported by CNN.
The Democratic victory has taken place after nearly 72 hours of scrutiny in which a failure in the printing machines in Maricopa County has delayed the final results.
