At least two Palestinians have been killed by Israel Defense Forces (IDF) during a new raid carried out Thursday afternoon in the West Bank city of Jenin, the Palestinian Authority Health Ministry said.
One of the men was identified as Farouk Salame, who died after being taken to a hospital in the city with several gunshot wounds to the abdomen, chest and head.
Subsequently, the Islamic Jihad terrorist organization said that he was one of its members, who also had links with the Lion’s Den militia, although the other deceased was a teenager.
The IDF said in a statement that Salame had been implicated in the death of police sergeant Noam Raz during a raid in Jenin last May, according to The Times of Israel.
Israeli authorities, who have accused him of planning new attacks with firearms, explained that Salame died after a series of clashes with security forces.
However, Palestinian sources claim that Salame was in a butcher shop slaughtering a cow for his wedding, scheduled for Saturday.
