American rock and roll pianist and singer Jerry Lee Lewis died Friday at the age of 87 of «natural causes,» according to his representative, Zach Farnum.
Farnum has released a statement in which he explained that the iconic singer died at his home, located in Desoto County, in northwestern Mississippi.
His closest friends confirmed that his seventh wife, Judith, was with him during his last moments of life. According to what she reported, Lewis acknowledged these days that he was not afraid of the afterlife.
Along with other artists such as Chuck Berry or Elvis Presley, Lewis was one of the main figures of American rock in the 50’s, until a shady marriage with the daughter of a cousin, barely 13 years old, cut short his professional career.
