Hundreds of people took to the streets again Thursday in Iran, where a group of demonstrators stormed the Mahabad governor’s office to protest the death of Ismail Moloudi, a young man who was killed by Revolutionary Guard officers during the last day of demonstrations.

The population of Mahabad, which is located in the west of the country and is Kurdish-majority, came to his funeral chanting «death to the dictator», although the security forces opened fire in an attempt to quell the protests, according to information from the Iran International channel, which reported that several people were wounded.

Moloudi died on Wednesday after being shot during protests held 40 days after the death of Masha Amini, the 22-year-old who died after being detained by the Morality Police for violating the Islamic dress code. This Thursday and during Moloudi’s funeral, the crowd has insisted that «martyrs never die».

In addition, during the protests of the last day – recorded in more than a dozen cities of the Kurdistan province – another 21 year-old young man, Mohamad Shariati, died after being shot by Iranian agents.

Activists and human rights groups have again called for national and international protests. In a statement, a movement in Tehran has called on the global population to take to the streets on Saturday to create a «human chain» in solidarity with the Iranian people, while urging those who are in the country to protest every day from Thursday at 16.00 (local time) for the death of Nika Shakrami, a 16-year-old teenager who also died at the hands of the agents after joining the protests in late September.
