Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov said Monday during his official visit to Brazil that his country wants the war to »end as soon as possible».
»It is clear that it is in our interest that the Ukrainian conflict ends as soon as possible,» Lavrov said at a press conference after meeting with his Brazilian counterpart, Mauro Vieira.
»We have already explained in detail on many occasions the reasons for what is happening, the objectives we are pursuing in this regard,» Lavrov added, according to Russian media.
Lavrov arrived Monday in Brasilia, the first stop of a tour that will also take him to Venezuela, Nicaragua and Cuba, from where he will return to Russia on April 21.
