Authorities in Mexico have located 68 bags with human remains in a clandestine grave in a place in the municipalities of Ocoyoacac and Lerma, in the State of Mexico.
According to sources close to the investigation quoted by the Mexican media ‘El Universal’, a total of 68 bags with human remains have been found in the grave, in addition to the location of a complete corpse.
The discovery took place within the framework of the investigations carried out by the Attorney General’s Office (FGJEM) to dismantle a criminal cell operating in the state of Jalisco, whose data led the agents to two sites located in San Juan Coapanoaya (Ocoyoacac) and in Cañada de Alferes (Lerma) where the human remains were found.
Following the arrest of seven alleged members of this criminal group, Mexican authorities proceeded to search a property in Juarez, in Ocoyoacac, which had been used as the headquarters of this cell and where they found a stolen vehicle and excavation tools.
At this time, the FGJEM continues with the excavation work and has not released further details about the investigation or whether these graves can be attributed to any organized crime group.
